A conflict in testimony where two or more witnesses provide contradictory accounts of an event under oath, with no independent corroborating evidence to support either version. The resolution of the matter depends entirely on the fact-finder's assessment of each witness's credibility. These situations arise in cases involving verbal agreements or private altercations where only the involved parties were present.
