Right to confront witness

A defendant's constitutional guarantee to face their accusers in court and subject them to cross-examination. This right allows the accused to challenge the testimony and credibility of witnesses testifying against them, giving the jury an opportunity to assess the witness's demeanor. The Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution establishes this right for defendants in federal and state criminal prosecutions.
