Testify

To give evidence as a witness, under oath or affirmation, in a legal proceeding such as a trial, hearing, or deposition. Testimony can be provided orally in open court or in written form through an affidavit or sworn statement. Witnesses who testify are subject to cross-examination by the opposing party's attorney, and knowingly giving false testimony constitutes the crime of perjury.
