Rebuttal witness

A person called to testify in a legal proceeding specifically to contradict or discredit evidence or testimony previously presented by the opposing side. This witness's testimony is limited to addressing points raised by the other party's case. The scope of a rebuttal witness's testimony is determined by the court.
