Tortious interference

An intentional act by a third party that improperly disrupts an existing contractual relationship or a prospective business advantage between two other parties. The interfering party must have knowledge of the relationship and act with the intent to cause its breach or termination. Proving this tort typically requires demonstrating damages resulting from the interference, such as lost profits.
