Custodial interference

The act of a parent or other person unlawfully taking, detaining, or concealing a child from the parent or guardian who has legal custody. This offense can range from a misdemeanor to a felony, depending on the duration of the interference and whether the child was taken across state lines. It is a serious violation of child custody orders.
