Uncontested divorce
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-005036
A divorce proceeding in which both spouses agree on all major issues required to end their marriage. This agreement covers matters such as the division of property, child custody and support, and spousal support (alimony), eliminating the need for a court to decide these terms. Because there are no disputed issues to litigate, the process is generally faster, less expensive, and less adversarial than a contested divorce.
