Broker

An individual or firm that acts as an intermediary between a shipper with goods to transport and a carrier with the capacity to move them. A freight broker arranges the transportation and handles logistics without taking possession of the freight. Brokers are legally distinct from freight forwarders, who take possession of the goods and issue their own bills of lading.
