Intermodal transportation

The movement of goods in a single loading unit, such as a container or trailer, using multiple modes of transport without handling the goods themselves during transfers. This method combines the advantages of different transport modes, such as the cost-effectiveness of rail or sea with the flexibility of road transport. It reduces cargo damage and theft by keeping goods sealed within the same unit throughout the journey.
