Unit load device

A pallet or container used to load freight, mail, and baggage onto wide-body aircraft and some narrow-body aircraft. These devices allow pre-loaded cargo to be moved as a single unit, fitting securely into an aircraft's cargo hold. Each unit load device has a unique serial number for tracking and must conform to specifications set by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
