Less than Container Load (LCL)

A sea freight shipping option for cargo that is insufficient to fill a standard 20-foot or 40-foot shipping container. With Less than Container Load (LCL) shipping, a consignor's goods are consolidated with cargo from other shippers at a container freight station before being loaded into a shared container. Charges are based on the volume of the shipment, measured in cubic meters (CBM).
