Consolidated shipping

The practice of combining multiple smaller shipments from different shippers into a single, larger shipment to reduce transportation costs. This allows carriers to fill a container or vehicle more efficiently, benefiting from economies of scale. It is commonly used for less-than-container-load (LCL) or less-than-truckload (LTL) freight.
