Deconsolidation

The process of separating a larger, consolidated shipment into its individual smaller consignments at an intermediate point in the supply chain. This typically occurs at a distribution center or a freight station after a container or trailer arrives with multiple orders destined for different recipients. Each individual consignment then proceeds to its final delivery point.
