Container freight station

A facility where less-than-container-load (LCL) cargo is consolidated into full container loads for export, or where full container loads are deconsolidated into individual shipments for import. It acts as an intermediate point for cargo handling, sorting, and temporary storage before or after ocean transit. These stations are typically located near ports or major inland distribution hubs.
