Abiotic
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003170
Relating to the non-living physical and chemical components of an ecosystem that influence atmospheric processes and living organisms. These components include sunlight, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, precipitation, and the chemical composition of the air and soil. Unlike biotic factors, which originate from living organisms, abiotic conditions dictate the fundamental environmental constraints within which weather patterns develop and life exists.
