Biogeochemical cycle
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003920
The pathway by which a chemical element or compound moves through both biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) components of the Earth system. These cycles involve reservoirs in the atmosphere, oceans, land, and living organisms, and include processes like photosynthesis, respiration, and decomposition. Examples include the carbon cycle, nitrogen cycle, and water cycle.
