Aerologation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010351
An air navigation method, also called pressure-pattern navigation, that uses the pressure and wind pattern between departure and destination to fly a minimum-time route. The pilot may deviate from the direct course to gain tail winds, as airliners do around a high-pressure system, yet applies one wind correction and holds a single heading. That correction comes from the pressure difference between the two ends, a formula proposed by John Bellamy.
