Heading

The horizontal direction in which an aircraft or other moving object is pointed, measured as an angle clockwise from true north. It differs from track, which is the actual path over the ground, and from bearing, which is the direction to a specific point. Pilots adjust heading to compensate for wind drift and maintain a desired course.
