Crabbing

The technique used by an aircraft pilot to maintain a straight ground track in crosswind conditions by pointing the nose of the aircraft slightly into the wind. This compensates for the lateral drift caused by the wind. The angle of the aircraft's heading relative to its ground track is known as the crab angle.
