Ground track

The path on the Earth's surface directly beneath an aircraft or satellite as it moves through the atmosphere or orbits the Earth. It represents the projection of the vehicle's trajectory onto the ground. For satellites, the ground track is a key parameter for mission planning and data acquisition, often repeating over specific periods.
