Trajectory

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009747

The path traced by a parcel of air or a particle as it moves through the atmosphere over time. This path is determined by the forces acting on the parcel, including pressure gradients, Coriolis force, and friction. Trajectories are often computed using numerical models to track the movement of pollutants, volcanic ash, or air masses.
