Constant absolute vorticity trajectory
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004617
The path followed by an air parcel in the atmosphere where its absolute vorticity remains unchanged. This concept is often applied in simplified atmospheric dynamics to understand the large-scale movement of air masses, particularly in the absence of friction and diabatic heating. Such trajectories are frequently used in theoretical studies of Rossby waves.
