Constancy
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004616
A wind statistic equal to the ratio of the magnitude of the vector mean wind to the mean wind speed averaged without regard to direction, usually written as a fraction or percentage. A value near 1 means the wind blew steadily from one direction, while a value near 0 means the directions varied so widely that they largely cancelled. It is also called directional constancy or steadiness.
