Airmass modification
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003412
The process by which an air mass changes its temperature, moisture content, and stability as it moves away from its source region and over a different surface. For example, a cold, dry air mass moving over warm ocean water will become warmer and more moist. This modification significantly alters the weather conditions associated with the air mass.
