Alaskan Stream

A warm, eastward-flowing ocean current that branches off the North Pacific Current near the coast of British Columbia and flows along the southern coast of Alaska. It transports relatively warm, less saline water into the Gulf of Alaska. This current influences regional climate and marine ecosystems, supporting rich fisheries.
