Bering Slope Current

A northwestward boundary current along the continental slope of the eastern Bering Sea, formed where the Aleutian North Slope Current turns along the slope. It carries water of North Pacific origin that entered through the Aleutian passes from the Alaskan Stream, and it is strongly eddying. Observed speeds are about 5 to 20 cm/s, and its transport is a few sverdrups.
