Apparent gravity
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003583
The net force experienced by an object on the surface of a rotating planet, which is the vector sum of the true gravitational force and the centrifugal force due to rotation. This force determines the direction in which objects fall and the level surface of liquids. Apparent gravity is slightly less than true gravity at the equator and increases towards the poles.
