Gravity

The force that attracts a body toward the center of the Earth, or toward any other physical body having mass. It is responsible for holding the atmosphere to the planet and influencing the vertical motion of air. The acceleration due to gravity at the Earth's surface is approximately 9.8 meters per second squared.
