Pressure force
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008131
The net force exerted by differences in atmospheric pressure across a given area. This force acts from regions of higher pressure to regions of lower pressure, driving air movement. It is directly proportional to the pressure gradient and the area over which it acts, and is a primary driver of wind.
