Surface gravity wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009435
A wave that propagates along the interface between two fluids, such as air and water, where the restoring force is gravity. These waves are observed as ripples, swells, and tsunamis in oceans and lakes. Their speed depends on their wavelength and the depth of the water.
