Ocean waves
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007663
Undulations on the surface of the ocean, primarily generated by wind blowing over the water. These waves transport energy across the ocean surface, ranging from small ripples to large swells and tsunamis. Their characteristics, such as height, wavelength, and period, are influenced by wind speed, fetch, and duration.
