Aridity coefficient
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003629
A dimensionless index used to quantify the degree of dryness in a climate, calculated as the ratio of annual precipitation to potential evapotranspiration. A lower coefficient indicates greater aridity, signifying a more pronounced water deficit. This coefficient is a key metric in classifying climate zones and assessing desertification risk.
