Axisymmetric flow
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003758
Fluid motion where the velocity components and other flow properties are independent of the azimuthal angle around a central axis. This type of flow is often used to model idealized atmospheric phenomena such as tropical cyclones or tornadoes, simplifying the governing equations. It assumes a uniform distribution of properties at any given radius from the central axis.
