Barinés

A strong, gusty wind that blows from the southwest across the llanos (plains) of Venezuela, originating from the Barinas state. This wind is most frequent during the dry season, from November to March, and is associated with the movement of high-pressure systems. The barinés is a warm and dry wind that can carry considerable amounts of dust and sand, affecting visibility and agriculture in the region.
