Accumulations of fragmented ice pieces, smaller than 2 meters (6.6 feet) across, resulting from the breaking up of larger ice formations. This type of ice is commonly found in areas of active ice movement, such as near shorelines or in channels where ice floes collide. Brash ice can significantly impede navigation for vessels.
