Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004107

A period of thick fog and low stratus clouds that occurs along the coast of Angola during the cool, dry season. This weather phenomenon develops when cool, moist air from the Benguela Current moves over the warmer coastal land, causing condensation. The cacimbo season typically lasts from June to August, bringing cool temperatures, high humidity, and persistent drizzle, which contrasts sharply with the hot, sunny conditions of the wet season.
