Climatic province

A large geographical area characterized by a relatively uniform climate, distinct from that of adjacent regions. The boundaries of these provinces are defined by specific criteria based on climatic elements like temperature and precipitation, following a climate classification system. For example, under the Köppen classification, the Mediterranean climate (Csa, Csb) constitutes a distinct climatic province found in several parts of the world.
