Climatological substation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004387

A meteorological observing station that records a more limited set of weather data compared to a principal climatological station. These stations are operated by volunteer observers and primarily measure daily maximum and minimum temperatures and 24-hour precipitation totals. The data supplement the records from more equipped stations, increasing the spatial density of observations for climate monitoring and agricultural applications.
