Third-order climatological station

A weather observation site that records a limited set of climatological data, primarily daily maximum and minimum temperatures and 24-hour precipitation totals. These stations are maintained by cooperative observers who provide data to a national weather service without direct compensation. Unlike first-order stations, they do not record the full suite of meteorological elements such as wind, pressure, and humidity.
