Colloidal system

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004520

A mixture in which microscopic particles of one substance are evenly dispersed in another substance, forming a stable, heterogeneous mixture. In atmospheric science, clouds and fog are classic examples, where water droplets or ice crystals are suspended in air. These systems exhibit properties such as the Tyndall effect, scattering light due to the size of the dispersed particles.
