Suspension
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010802
A heterogeneous mixture in the atmosphere where solid or liquid particles are dispersed within a fluid medium, such as air, but are large enough to eventually settle out due to gravity. Examples include dust suspended in the air during a dust storm or water droplets in a cloud before precipitation. Unlike solutions, the particles in a suspension are visible and do not dissolve.
