Colloidal suspension
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004519
A heterogeneous mixture where one substance, consisting of very fine particles, is dispersed uniformly throughout another substance without settling out. In meteorology, clouds are a prime example, consisting of tiny water droplets or ice crystals suspended in air. The particles in a colloidal suspension are larger than molecules but too small to be seen individually with the naked eye.
