Fog
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-001037
A meteorological phenomenon consisting of a cloud layer at or near the Earth's surface, reducing visibility. It forms when water vapor condenses into tiny liquid droplets or ice crystals suspended in the air. This atmospheric condition is typically observed when the horizontal visibility is less than 1,000 meters (3,300 feet).
(abbrev. F) Fog is water droplets suspended in the air at the Earth's surface. Fog is often hazardous when the visibility is reduced to ¼ mile or less.
