Fog bank
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005681
A localized, dense mass of fog that forms over a body of water or low-lying land and often appears as a distinct, visible wall from a distance. It develops when moist air cools to its dew point, causing water vapor to condense into tiny droplets. These formations can severely reduce visibility, posing hazards to navigation and transportation.
