Mixing fog
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007336
A type of fog that forms when two air masses with different temperatures and moisture contents, both initially unsaturated, mix together. The mixing process can lead to saturation of the combined air, causing water vapor to condense into visible fog droplets. This often occurs when cold air flows over a warmer, moist surface, such as steam fog.
