Frontal fog
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005804
Fog that forms in the vicinity of a weather front, resulting from the saturation of air by precipitation falling through it. As rain or drizzle falls from warmer air into cooler air ahead of a warm front, evaporation from the precipitation increases the moisture content of the cooler air to saturation. This type of fog is common ahead of warm fronts and can significantly reduce visibility.
