Comb nephoscope

An instrument used to determine the direction and speed of cloud movement by observing their passage relative to a series of parallel bars or teeth. The observer aligns the comb with the cloud's motion and times its transit across a known angular distance. This device provides a simple, visual method for estimating cloud velocity.
