Direct-vision nephoscope
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005045
An instrument used to determine the direction and speed of cloud movement by observing their apparent motion against a fixed reference. It typically consists of a mirror or a series of parallel bars, allowing an observer to align the cloud's path. This device provides visual estimates of cloud velocity, particularly for higher-level clouds.
