Deep percolation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004890
The downward movement of water through the soil profile beyond the root zone, eventually reaching groundwater or an impermeable layer. This process is a component of the hydrological cycle and is influenced by soil type, precipitation intensity, and vegetation cover.
