Soil zone

A distinct layer or horizon within the soil profile characterized by specific physical, chemical, and biological properties. These zones develop through weathering, organic matter accumulation, and the movement of water and dissolved substances. The A horizon, or topsoil, is rich in organic matter and biological activity.
